Utah is fortunate to have many organizations dedicated to improving safety. The most effective way to improve safety is through a comprehensive and integrated approach. By combining efforts and resources of all safety partners, and the public, Utah has experienced a downward trend in fatalities. Here are our Zero Fatalities Partners.

Utah Department of Transportation

UDOT is dedicated to keep Utahns moving and, most importantly, moving safely. Zero Fatalities, a UDOT and DPS program, is all about eliminating fatalities and improving driving culture on Utah roadways through education.

Utah Department of Public Safety

DPS’s vision is to create a culture where roadway users take responsibility for their safety and the safety of others. Zero Fatalities, a UDOT and DPS program, is all about eliminating fatalities and improving driving culture on Utah roadways through education.

Utah Highway Patrol

The Utah Highway Patrol educates and enforces traffic safety laws to save lives.

Utah State Office of Education

The Utah State Office of Education supports the Zero Fatalities program by scheduling presentations to teach students how to be safe as a driver and vehicle passenger.

Utah Department of Health

The Utah Department of Health Violence and Injury Prevention Program (VIPP) contracts with local health departments to provide roadway safety education and support.

Truck Smart

The Truck Smart (TS) program educates drivers on how to be safe and smart around commercial vehicles through education.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

The Teen Driver Safety Research team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is proud to partner with teens, parents and organizations that work to prepare teens for a lifetime of safe driving.

Safe Kids Utah County

Safe Kids Utah County is a program run by the Utah County Health Department commited to children’s vehicle safety by educating caregivers and kids.

Bear River health department

A primary goal of the Bear River Health Department is to make buckling up a family rule. Starting young, developing safe habits, and carrying those behaviors throughout a lifetime.

Central Utah Public health department

The Central Utah Public Health Department is doing seat belt promotions anywhere and everywhere they can, including school presentations, health fairs and community events.

Creamies

Creamies has a trailer that is wrapped with Zero Fatalities branding, which is taken to events throughout the state of Utah to encourage safety on and around Utah roads.

Davis County Health Department

The Davis County Health Department is all about healthy choices – healthy people – healthy communities. The department is engaged in educating residents on traffic safety by providing education and training to all road users.

Emergency Medical Services for Children

No one knows better the consequences of a crash than EMS, especially for children. EMS for Children is a strong advocate for traffic safety education.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has numerous programs designed to encourage the safety of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians to help raise awareness about safe riding, walking and driving practices around large trucks and buses.

Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital

Primary Children’s Hospital continues its longstanding commitment to vehicular safety with a variety of programs for car seat safety, driveway child back-over prevention, passenger safety, pedestrian safety among others.

Med One

Sleep Smart Drive Smart is focused on raising awareness about the dangers of drowsy driving to save lives on Utah roads.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is an organization dedicated to safe driving and provides information regarding safe driving practices, vehicle and part recall information, and safety innovation.

Salt Lake County Health Department

The Salt Lake County Health Department is promoting car seat safety and proper installation by providing a car seat education course — in English and Spanish — in addition to regular car seat checkpoints, among other traffic safety efforts.

San Juan Health Department

The San Juan Public Health Department is dedicated to keeping their community safe. Recently the department has encouraged seat belt use by utilizing the Zero Fatalities “Put our seatbelt into action” campaign.

Southeast Utah Health Department

In an effort to increase safe driving in southeastern Utah, the Southeast Utah Health Department works with local school districts, law enforcement, and businesses to encourage safe driving practices.

Southwest Utah Public Health Department

The Southwest Utah Public Health Department is promoting car seat safety and proper installation by providing a car seat education course — in English and Spanish — in addition to regular car seat checkpoints, among other traffic safety efforts.

SUMMIT COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Summit County Health Department focuses on promoting and protecting the personal and environmental health of Summit County residents and guests – including traffic safety education, training and resources.

Tooele County Health Department

To increase seat belt use among young people, the Tooele County Health Department with the Utah Highway Patrol and the Tooele County School District brings seat belt education to students, including interactive demonstrations.

Tri-County Health Department

The Tri-County Health Department, which serves Uintah, Duchesne and Daggett counties, is dedicated to preventing disease, protecting the environment promoting healthy lifestyles. As part of this aim the department provides traffic safety information and training.

Unified Police Department

Unified officers support programs that promote roadway safety because no one knows better the consequences of a crash.

Utah County Health Department

To increase children’s safety in Utah County, the Utah County Health Department offers in-person car seat safety classes, free car seat safety inspections, and a discounted car seat program.

Utah Safety Council

The Utah Safety Council offers the Alive at 25 program, a survival course for 15–25-year old’s, as well as a defensive driving course to reinforce good driving skills and remind students that driving choices have consequences.

Wasatch County Health Department

The Wasatch County Health Department is actively involved in creating, maintaining and sustaining a healthy environment for all the residents of Wasatch County. This includes educating residents on safe driving, walking and biking practices.

Weber-Morgan Health Department

The Weber-Morgan Health Department runs several programs to promote vehicle safety, including an annual Safe Kids Day community event and an annual car seat checkpoint.
